Bob DylanBob Dylan used his song lyrics to protest and contribute to the anti-war movement. He was a huge part of the music anti-war movement, and was a "spokesman" for the people through use of his lyrics (The Politics of Bob Dylan). However, he later on said in an interview, "I don't want to write for people anymore. You know- be a spokesman, from now on, I want to write from inside me" (Oldspeak).

"The Times They Are A-Changin'" came out in 1963, around the time America's disapproval with Vietnam rose. It made a direct statement about the war and referred to how people's children had been sent off to war (Dylan, The Times They Are A-Changin').
