Country Joe & The Fish
Country Joe and Fish was a psychedelic rock band, lead by Country Joe McDonald, who wrote protest songs about the Vietnam War. Their most famous song was “The ‘Fish’ Cheer,” commonly referred to as the “Vietnam Song." This song blamed politicians and leaders of the US military for the war. It expressed that Americans didn’t understand what they were fighting for and that they felt trapped by the draft system. (The "Fish" Cheer)
